What to do with a 1982 Rabbit diesel drivetrain??

As the title says, I have an old Rabbit diesel. It's a complete, but horribly rusty car. The engine was good enough to drive it home (a few years ago). The trans is excellent. The suspension is not good and the brakes don't work.

So, my thought was to repair the engine and transplant it into a better car. Maybe even a modern car. Or possibly a lightweight kit car. Or, I could make a neat diesel generator out of the engine.

What do you guys think?

Kit car! "Locost" or something similar.

Or into a classic LBC (Little British Car).
