New hondas use this same technology on the newer hybrids. The whole back light will change color depending on driving style.

2000mc- Nice, but yours doesn't have LEDs or monopolize your phone. I'll bet it doesn't cost much either, and is available before December.

It just doesn't compare, even if it may have a better claim to being "first."

I appreciate what they're trying to do, but I have concerns. First, as has been pointed out, the claim that this is "the first gadget that improves your driving" is a flat-out lie. From vacuum gauges to Torque to the Scangauge, there are a plethora of devices available to improve drivers' efficiency.

Second, in trying to promote your product on this website, I think the developers will run into a lot of pushback because the GoFar simply does not provide any detailed feedback. I can use my Scangauge to monitor throttle position sensor, coolant temperature, engine rpm, gallons consumed per hour, instant mpg, average mpg...among hundreds of other parameters. I won't replace that with what is, essentially, a glorified idiot light, and I don't think many here would.

Thirdly, I think whoever wrote the promotional material for the Kickstarter campaign is overthinking things. We don't need gyroscopes to measure forces in the car when we can already get the information we need to track efficiency from the OBD systems. They can claim to track things like aerodynamic drag and friction, but in reality they aren't--anymore than the car already does when it spits out a measure of fuel consumption. And bold headlines claiming this device will "KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES SAFER" are specious at best.

I think they'll have a few takers when (if) this goes on sale, but I'll pass.

It isn't even the first one that's colored blue.

Hi cowmeat, anything you like about GoFar though?
Well, I watched it without sound, so I didn't get too much out of it other than it reminded me of what the spawn of "Kit" the talking car on Nightrider and one of those three-legged things in War of the Worlds might look like. I do like that they had both an Asian and an Indian working on it though, that makes it seem a little more legit

Send me a free one and I'll check it out*

I'd like to have one AND be able to simultaneously run the ScanGauge as well. I want AS MUCH information as possible, while I'm driving and also data that I could review on the computer later.

I think it's a very cool idea for the masses. For us obsessive ecomodder types... probably not going to catch on.
