The job prospects aren't great for single childless me with two Bachelors'.

If I found something up here that paid better than speech I would have switched, although I would have watched out for full-time speech jobs.

She said that she was going to start non-emergency medical transport as a second job and the ad I saw said they never pay less than $30 hourly.

I never believe advertising and a job that involves driving a beater 5,000 miles in 6 weeks might result in consuming 3 quarts of oil and 2 quarts of ATF in 4,000 miles, plus inevitable repairs, and lots of $4.50 gas.

So you neither confirm nor deny the reason the Alaskan moved was you?

I'm not familiar with your particular location, but the job prospects for a single and educated person is very good.

First thing that came to mind;

Quote:
As of Apr 21, 2022, the average annual pay for the Amazon Driver jobs category in Oregon is $46,925 an year. Just in case you need a simple salary calculator, that works out to be approximately $22.56 an hour. This is the equivalent of $902/week or $3,910/month.
Personally, I'd set that as a base expectation for a single and educated person in this area because at minimum one could work for Amazon.

I've made less for most of my working career, so the prospects for those willing to work appear to be as good as its ever been.

$17.50/hour,* plus overtime and benefits

She had talked about moving, but she had talked about many things. However, she didn't tell me she decided to move, she told me she moved, and then she was kicked out, so I asked "How about I help you find a place in Show Low?"

Show Low, AZ

Population - 11,000
Location - 2 hours from anywhere
Economic state - not promising
https://www.bestplaces.net/economy/c...izona/show_low

Not exactly a boomtown that someone would pick up their family and move 3,000 mile to relocate to seeking opportunity.

Job prospects are excellent today for people willing to relocate to locations with jobs.

Average pay?! Get out of here!

I am ashamed that I didn't catch your lunacy immediately!

I didn't expect to find the starting pay at the charter school, even from independent sources, but I still wasted my time.

All that they said was: "Average salary of all teachers employed in budget year 2022: $45,250."

I didn't waste your time with that out of respect, but no more!

How is comparing the median income in one city to another or the national average "lunacy"?

I'm getting a vibe that you didn't like me stating the straight up economic facts about your chosen home. I'll ask you straight out - is Show Low a place where someone should move expecting to find a steady good-paying job? Walmart is the second largest employer after the hospital and Home Depot and Lowes make the top 10 list.

I can relate - I grew up in a dead auto town which is only doing slightly better than Show Low. My wife and I also left town at 22 and have been following jobs since. There is zero chance we would be were we are today if we didn't leave a place with no prospects.

You cannot take the average pay at a posted job and claim that someone should be able to find a job earning that much to start.

The best time to start teaching was 14 years ago.

The Average Teacher Has 14 Years of Experience

Starting pay in Show Low $32,653. A teacher with 14 years of experience and a PhD earns $48,853.

A teacher with 14 years of experience, a Master's, and an additional 30 credits would earn $45,073, or just under what Sequoia says their average teacher earns.

The chart maxes out at $56,053 and a teacher would need 20 years of experience, a PhD, and additional qualifications, certificates, and\or endorsements to reach that.

This seems like an odd URL for something linked by the district: https://tb2cdn.schoolwebmasters.com/...y-Schedule.pdf

Engine Bay Cleaning Extravaganza! :D

Is it an extravaganza if I only clean under 3 hoods?

Well, compared to the normal amount of cleaning I do!

I could have cleaned Mom's engine bay, but it stays amazingly clean.
I also have that 2002 Civic, and I really need to pay Crazy J for whatever he has done and move it, but to where?!

That engine bay was also clean, at least when I bought it.

I bought the spray I linked in response to that video. It just hurt to pay 40% as much as the large container costs, for 20% as much, but I didn't seem to use that much, and I cleaned 3 engine bays!

2000 Civic for some reason:

1999 Accord:

2004 Camry

Here is a close-up of where the [visible] leaks are. Should I have taken an after?

It doesn't look significant in the pictures, but I was impressed, although real-world results don't match what some random guy shared on social media.

I am tempted to make note of which parts had the most dirt left on them, do this again, but quickly scrub those components with my power brush.

However, I really need to figure out where my leaks are!
