What do you think of my car blog? Drag racing the Tdi!
Hey folks,
been away for a long time- since moving Jobs in Feb, I've been doing considerably less mileage. Even though that is the case, I've still been getting my automotive thrills and spills. Earlier in the year I though it'd be worth writing about my experiences, hopefully to provide some entertainment for folks with similar interests. Main site is here: fu'guttycars | More Petrol, Less Polish! This review of the Hyundai i10 may be of interest: Real Road Test- Hyundai i10 | fu'guttycars :D Hopefully I'll be doing some ecomodding/hypermiling type shenanigans that i'll blog about:turtle: P.s. it does contain the odd reference to the 14mpg (uk) bmw735i I have:eek: Would be good to hear your thoughts and opinions:) thanks |
Got to play with a Suzuki Jimny at the weeekend..
Its a 1300cc petrol small off roader with big ideas! Jim Jimny, Jim Jimny, Jim Jim Jaree | fu'guttycars |

Rate guid that car. :p
High load capacity needs a disclaimer: you'll need a full rack to load anything of import onto it. Nice you got a pre-electronic transfer case one. Still aiming to get one of those, one of these days. |

To be honest with me and the brother in it, it saw plenty load luggery.. Yeah there is something satisfying snicking a secondary lever into place. |
I Took ecomodder to heart again, swapped out the 735i for a 316i..

The 316i was an enjoyable read. Minds me of a trip a fellow forumer from Norway did... all the way to the top of Europe in an old Corolla (the last of the rear-drive ones). It broke down halfway there, so they found another one for sale, bought it on the spot, and continued the trip the next day.
- XJ40 would be the first with the V8? Nice motor those. Not terribly economical, though... :p |

The xj40 was only ever available with the straight 6 pr the v12-the v8 (and its myriad issues with timing chains) first came in the x308 in the late 90s. Its a lovely big thing and was averaging 26 uk mpg (21.6us) on the drive home. I think thats fairly good for a 4.0 auto 1800kg (3970lb) car.. |
