What mpg can I expect from an 05 corolla?
pretty base, ce, 5sp.
Light careful low rpm driving without any pulse n glide. Just basic easy eco minded driving. Low 40s? |
It looks like you're getting over 40 MPG with your Saturn and Pontiac; a Toyota Corolla should get better gas mileage than those two, if similarly driven and similarly ecomodded.

Ya, those were a while ago. I come n go with eco/hyper driving. Hag nothing but a suburban for a while, never even checked. The corolla has the same exact engine and 5 speed as the vibe (same assembly line) so I expect simular results. I did break 50 once in the Saturn so I can pull the numbers if I want too bad enough.
I won't be running higher tire pressure or even trying hard until spring or summer (so cold and winter gas) with the corolla. Just will drive easy but won't be able to help myself from checking mileage. |
The Corolla weighs almost 200 pounds less and has a 0.30 drag coefficient versus the 0.33 drag of the Vibe, so it should better if driven the same.
Why not inflate the tires though? Just a few PSI can increase the MPG without making that much of a difference in ride quality. |
What's EPA for that car...
City MPG: 28 Highway MPG: 37 31 combined https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/20797.shtml |
42.5
