Looked nice, if a bit pricey, until I scanned down to the bottom of the page, and found the words "Transmission: automatic" :-( I don\'t take elevators to go up one flight, park in handicapped spots, or buy cars with automatic transmissions.

I do wonder how they got it into the US, though, and whether it could actually be licensed?

to tell the truth I\'m a bit disappointed in the smart car. I parked next to one the other day with a sticker in the back window that said 40mpg. I felt like running into the store to get pen and paper so I could put a sign in the window of my 1986 "beater" vw jetta that said 50mpg\'s, seats 4 and only cost me 600 bucks. I think that americans have been brain washed into thinking that anything approaching 30 is good. I mean honestly the VW polo gets like 80 mpg\'s. "exasperated sigh".

I thought they were all sequential/automatic ie. you can select the gear by moving the gear lever up or down.
