My monitor does that when the DVI cable's plug isn't seated properly. Since it just pushes in, it will work its way loose if the cable is touched or the screen moved.

The Dell Command Update is not for the XPS line. I did not find a comparable utility. Dell Update says that I am up-to-date, but the website says that I am missing four drivers. Well, let's see how updating the BIOS goes. What can go wrong?!

I use a DVI to HDMI cable, and I do not have another one that I can try. I did not have time to look for another monitor (and cable), I had clients at 0830, 1000, and then a meeting from 1300 to 1530, with evening clients.

What about tonight?

Well, you see, someone referred to the Sontars from "Dr. Who," and I decided to quickly make a "Sontar-ha!" gif, but ended up watching two episodes of "Dr. Who," capturing part of it, uploading it to YouTube, and then using a utility to turn a YouTube video into a fourteen-second gif.

Why fourteen seconds?

You don't want to know.
