Welcome, Brodie.

What's the story of your Model A?

And the soon-to-be Yaris?

Well the model A was my grandfathers and starter it's life as a full metal bodied 1928 Ford Model A, when kids stomped the top in and the ripped the doors off. we converted it to a wood bodied "HUXTER" or milk truck. which was an option in 1928. And I am wanting to buy a yaris so I can start seeking extreme mileage, big plans! also when the 1nz-fe kicks the can I can install a small turbo diesel. I have 2 40hp diesel engines but I just don't think it will cut it!

Cool old Ford - nice family connection too. Thanks!

40 hp... You'd have to do a lot of aeromodding / weight reduction to make that work in one of the Toyotas!

dont buy a yaris. I test drove one and it handled horribly, not to mention I saw one broad side a silverado at 25-30 mph and the Yaris was completely destroyed and the driver limped out of the car, the silverado was able to drive away, the yaris lost a wheel and the dash pushed in about six inches. -WEAK. not to mention the center gauge pod is annoying but thats just me.

Not looking for handling, looking for fuel economy, price, I am a TOYOTA guy.... besides, there are not many small cars that will survive a hit from a full size truck at 50 Km/h anyways? I still have to do some more looking around, but I am very happy with the vehicle? handles like a $10,000 should??? I like the centre gauge, good use of space, and it makes highway driving more interesting.

Yea, I don't plan on putting the BMC 40 hp diesels in the Yaris, if I can't find a TOYOTA 1ndt-tv to swap in, it will probably be a 1.9 TD from an older VW.
But before I do that I would like to make a electric tube frame redundant bicycle with a carbon fibre or aluminium aero shell. Also looking at some super skinny tires that might work on the Yaris.
