I average a tank every 4 days. With me its about spending less time @ the pump. I fill up when the light comes on, that's what its there for!

I'm always facing a time crunch on my commute, and it's worse now that I'm not driving like the car's on fire. So I stop for gas (or anything, really) as rarely as possible. I can't run it down all the way because gas stations are so far apart on my route and my MPG varies widely depending on what part of my route I'm on.

So while I'd like to run it down to half a gallon or so, wanting a good safety margin and a gas station with a good track plan leaves me with at least a couple of gallons in the tank. I just checked my fuel log, and the only tank that I went down to less than one gallon was my third one.
