Where to recycle EV batteries?
I live in FLorida and I've been looking for places to dispose of some old nissan leaf batteries I bought for a project many years ago. The most I'm finding are links to places like Staples and Best Buy and Lowes that recycle smaller lithium ion batteries.
The batteries haven't been used and have been sitting in a box in the garage for a few years, so I'm willing to give them away for local pickup (and the parts that I bought with them).
I have an ad here: https://ecomodder.com/forum/showthre...tml#post664537

Are they completely dead?
If not sell them on ebay.
Ignore the greenwaging you may hear, no one in the United States is recycling batteries, beyond saving the steel, aluminum and copper in them.

I'd post them on eBay. I had some dead Prius modules that I advertised exactly as is, dead Prius modules, and people bought them from me on eBay. What they did with them, I have no idea.

This 3rd Wheel Podcast Episode 2: Erika Guerrero is about battery recycling -- mainly Arcimoto pouches. But she has a company called Redivivus that is building shredders in Bend OR. They apparently don't separate the Nickel and Cobalt but it's still useful for further alloying.

Mock up for a fixture, jig, use to build a housing, use as some kind of display, ect. I have seen people buy cracked and otherwise ruined engines on ebay probably for the same reason.

Nah people buy them expecting them to be at half capacity or whatever. There are a lot of used battery places online now that test them for capacity and then list them at whats available and people will buy them for diy projects. Sometimes people know how to open the packs and replace the bad cells individually and rebalance them (especially with the rectangular lithium cells). A lot of people just buy on $/kWh, power density, safety, and c rating.
If you can you can, charge them up and measure discharged energy from them or just list them on ebay as is.
