Where are they now?

I've been thinking for a while now of trying to contact people and companies that have built high mpg vehicles, or advanced engine designs, and seeing what ever became of them? I figure this site is noteworthy enough, we could get away with saying it's for "a Ecomodder news article/blog" press thing of some sort. Just something to make it seem official so people would be more inclined to reply.

What do you think?

I'd like to find out what Dave Cloud's is up to with the "Dolphin." Would he ever sell it?

John Waylands attempt to build "Silver Streak," a 350 mile range Honda Insight with an EV1 drivetrain and wheels? Last update from him on that was in 2009, though that material got picked up in 2011 for different articles.

Aptera, Edison2, the many more obscure Xprize entrants like Washington University who built exceptional one off high mpg cars like the Viking 45. What ever happened to the "Four-sight?" The WaveII? Loremo? Where are these cars now? Or will we hear about them 20 years from now on ebay as neglected barn finds?

Lit motors?

Meullers pulse wave engine that got funded by DARPA?

koenigsegg's camless engine in a Saab?

Singh and his engine grooves?

Anymore i missed?

Be interested in the outcome. I was reading the comments on an article about flight 370 that vanished over the indian ocean. Some of the comments said they had some talented engineers on the plane and it may of been purposely downed due to greed, ownership of a company, etc, etc, etc.

Loremo?

Dead as the dinos :(

Haven't heard from them in years - I've been on their waiting list since before 2005.

They were going to produce some pre-production cars after the restructuring ... but they haven't even produced a new picture of a car for the last couple years.

There's only one drivable Loremo.
The company couldn't even afford to pay for its repairs (around 2.000 euro) after it got damaged.
Word has it, it's been locked in a container somewhere.

Somebody's paying their web hosting bill though, as their website is still up.

There's an Aptera Type 1 at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, in the "Inventors and Innovations" exhibit.
