Yeah, thanks for clearing it up, and my bad for taking as if it were sarcasm or something. I got it a little after the fact.

Aside from the wing shaped cars I wonder if any real improvements can be made give the constraints mentioned before, like all the things consumers want or need in a car and of course don't forget about all those pesky safety regulations.

Hi,

Both the new Insight and the new Prius get the highest crash rating possible. So they are both aerodynamic and crash worthy.

Ha ha, of course! You'd just be that much more likely to survive?.....

No, to buy a new car, one that has a 5 star safety rating. That's just a little more incentive to buy said car, not that one shouldn't look at a LOT of other things or that the crash rating is ever that high on the list of priorities for most people, generally speaking.

When I said "too" I meant as well as any others....I forget people aren't the same train of thought as me sometimes.

I figure my odds of getting stepped on by an elephant are roughly the same as finding out how many stars my car has.

...similarly: "...odds my car actually SURVIVES a crash at the same success rate as it was TESTED to in the laboratory"

Like they say, if it's your time to go, it's your time to go.

Here's how they rate your car though:
