Doing my best to personally ruin it. Parking my butt in Zurich right now, italy tomorrow.

Un sure but i think there's a two hour limit for water overflight without airports to land at. There's a you tube faa explainable video that i cant quote explaining why

There are rules for land and water. The old rules from decades ago limited twin engine jets to flying a maximum of 60 minutes from an airport large enough to land. Then as jet engines got larger ETOPS rules allowed longer time between airports. The rules are based on the specification of the planes and now ETOPS range from 75 minutes to 370 minutes.

The sweet spot is suborbital but above the Kármán line.

Yup, but to do that currently requires a glide or orbit capable device. Cant carry enough oxidizer for the fuel and still have passengers
