Question Will 3 wheeled car ever be SEXY?

What do you think? Will they ever REALLY be appealing?

Look at the aptera... now look at it again... really? I mean, its not 'sexy' by ANY means.

Anyone know of any really awesome 3 wheeled designs that actually look the part? (think BMW, Mercedes, Porsche here... not UFO).

Try driving a Corbin Sparrow.
Most cars get their appeal because people have some preconceived notion of what it would be like to be the driver of that car, so really all it would take is enough people driving them, realizing what they are like to drive and talking about them to get the image to change.

In my opinion, the Vigillante is one of the sexiest cars out there.

This one's not setup for MPG, but I think it could be :

Reverse Trike T-Rex
Campagna Motors T-REX and V13R the

You obviously have to enclose the shape and use a smaller engine. It's currently marketed as a super-trike in the $60K range. The "cargo-pods" in the back are removable.

Yeah, thats the problem... getting the ball rolling (tell that to big companies that bank on their "no risk" strategy).

I think that T-rex is as close as we can get to "mainstream sexy" (although i love the morgan). Problem is, I can already see them saying "its too low" "you can't go through drive throughs" etc lol. The aptera is higher, but honestly doesn't look like "todays" cars.

Maybe we should start a design contest and see if, collectively, we can make something AWESOME

Hello -

Here is a new one that just *has* to be T-Rex based :

Talon Motorsports: Home Page

However, I don't think it's made it to market yet.

MOGGIES! I love those things, especially watching them run around at historic races. Morgan put together a modern take on one a little while ago.... Let me check...

Hmm, I stand corrected: They've kept almost the same looks as the original ones, much as they've done with the +4 for the past ~60 years.
