Wind Power, Emissions-Free?

Automatic pitch control did not work to slow down the torque/rotation.

That looks like a prehistoric generation 2 wind turbine.
Wind turbines may not seem like they normally create much emissions normally but they use tons of petroleum products to keep going 50 to 100 gallons each and they draw up to 6 kw when in stand by on the larger ones.

When I saw the headline, I thought "Oh boy, I can post that one video".

There's a second unit down the line with similar but less photogenic problems.

What I concluded is that the blades are hollow and the one that lost it tip turned into a giant centrifugal fan, and a pretty effective one at that.
