My grandma's Chevy Venture (2000-ish) has wipers that stow under the hood?

And yeah, it flaps up... so I'm gonna go ahead and guess that I should remove it.

my old lesus es300 hid under the hood also.

hell my camry does that too, even the squirters are under the hood.
water will sit on them at highway speeds, so they are out of the flow.

what happened to your bumper??

they also make low profile blades that may work better.

Oh, nothing. Just got a new one It's off of a SHO, quite a bit sportier IMHO. (Athough probably less aero-friendly)

I plan on blocking the lower grille this weekend. Maybe the upper grille too.

Try trimming it first.

I've already trimmed it :-/

The problem is the area above where the blades themselves are. The base of the wiper arm sticks out so far, that there is nothing supporting the blocker where the blade is under it.

I think it might be because it is at such a steep angle?

Mine is attached at the sides of the cowl piece, but does extend under the hood. The hood just makes sure it doesn't come loose and fly off on the highway.

Maybe you could attach some thin metal bars to it to keep it from flapping.

I made mine with a radius in the middle to help visibility, you could do the same to yours too. It doesn't take much.

Maybe add a strip of metal strapping (plumber's tape) as a stiffener?

Yeah. I cut it down pretty far. Sadly the camera battery is dead right now... but I'll try and get some pictures tomorrow.
