winter grill block and air dam

2 Attachment(s)
I just finished my winter grill block and made the air dam out of lawn edging...the first test didnt really show much of a difference but that was a given with all the variables

If you have a comprehensive logbook for times past,we'll be able to see if a new trendline emerges for 'similar' driving conditions.
Looks good!

I didn't see much FE improvement from my grill blocks, but what i did see was warmup times being 2 miles quicker. I know 2 miles is a good time measurement ;) but i dont turn my heater on til the engine is up to normal operating temps so it helps for comfort

It looks like you blocked the bottom, but what about the area around the Honda logo?

Once it gets down to freezng at night, I block all but a 1x3 inch opening. Warms up fast, I can keep the interior hot and continue wearing my PJs with decent mpg.

i will do the upper grill block too as soon as i figure out a way to do it without making it look bad

Would you do a stealth block paint the coro black and use black zip ties( i still got white, plan to switch them out 1 day). I think it looks pretty good. The bottoms are more noticeable, but on the top i bet hasn't been noticed by anyone yet.

Looks and eco modding do not necessarly go hand and hand.

I just used the 5 dollar a roll black duct tape for my upper grill. I also did the lower part of the hood so it looks like I got a bra.

Looks like you could just use some black water pipe insulating foam strips along the edges of the grill slats to block the upper grill. If it works it would have the advantage of not disturbing the cosmetics of the grill frame and emblem and could be removed in just seconds.

I previously blocked the rear of the grill, however the grill adds some turburlance to the air passing over the front of the car.

On my honda I used bloack duct tape to cover the upper grill. On my sidekick I used a piece of flashing painted glossy black to cover the upper grill.
