Mileage gains (or lack thereof) notwithstanding, I like the mod simply because it looks cleaner. Not everybody here has an appreciation for form-enhancement (most of us are function > form types), and I likely wouldn't spend the time to do this unless I had a few mins and a spare set of arms around, but I can appreciate that it is an enhancement, nonetheless.

One thing to pay attention to, however - Doing this has lessened the leverage that the arms have over the blades. There's a chance that wind gusts, etc can now lift your wipers, and they may not work as well during rain. The fix, if this happens, is installing stronger springs under the wiper arms.

i use these aerotwin wipers. they don´t tend to lift, and until now is no diffrence remarkable.
