I like the grill blocks a lot, very slick and mean-looking Please do keep us up-to-date with your FE figures.

You really should add your new car to the EM Garage and track your fuel economy that way. It's a good tool to se how you're doing.

so I have a 2+ hr (1 way) trip planned on the 14th as I have to run a couple of people to Ft Myers. I will probably run around 60mph most of the way as that is the spd limit, unless I come across a tractor trailer I can draft. I also am going to remove the upper GB as before I installed that, I never experienced the gurgling sound from the OF. I considered the lower GB, but honestly I think its doing the most good.
Im going to try and get the fog covers done before then.

some more testing, by removing the upper block and the OF doesnt bubble, so Im thinking that over the summer I will leave the upper block off.

next up, lower air dam, the mp5 has a small (2' across) one already in place that I can just hook onto and extend down and out to include the front tires, I have more than enough coro that I may even be able to make a front belly pan, but not sure if I want to use coro for that, Id prefer something a little more durable

after some more testing, and a 6 hr trip, 1/3 of which was city, I had put the upper grill block on and removed the lower. Ive decided the upper grill block is the one that is more restricting to my airflow and is the cause of the bubbling in my over flow. plus, I think it isnt as affective of helping create a more aero front end.
so I removed it (again) and put the lower GB back on.
I have a trip planned to Orlando (about 2-2.5 hrs 1 way) to pick up a set of OEM side skirts, which Im hoping will help to clean up the flow around the sides. plus Im thinking it will give me something easier to build upon if I want to enclose the underside partially.
although looking at the belly of the mp5, its pretty clean (or Im just too used to trucks....)
either way, I am going to put a front pan on, while it is pretty clean under the front there is more than enough room for improvement

also of note, my 2nd tank of gas was all city/town driving, and I still managed to net 29mpg, and that will only improve as I have an SG ii on the way !
