WTT 240 for 300

Basically, I've got a engine from a Merc 240D [late 70's early 80's vintage] and 4 speed manual transmission that appears to function fine. Don't remember if the clutch is still there or not.

I need a 5 cylinder turbo diesel in running condition.

The engine and trans in trade for your running 300D/TD/SD/whatever engine. The 130ish HP turbo diesel version.

My idea here is to put the 5 cylinder under the doghouse of my work van, a Dodge Ram 1500 Van, and use it to pick up inventory when I have to drive to Ohio once a week or so. The essentially free fuel is a boon for using a diesel, but I really need something that's going to have ample power to not only lug the van out to Ohio across US 6 or US 86, but bring it back with anywhere from 900 to 3,000 lbs inside.

I /might/ be able to pick up and deliver somewhere nearby... can't do a weekend drive because the old lady works full time and we have nobody else to watch the boy.
