Are you looking for a forklift motor?

My uncle runs a wrecker and told me that he has access to motors. He had NO clue people like us wanted them. It came up when I was looking for wood and reclaimed items for a green reno. Anyway, he said he can look up in his inventory and his friends to see what he has, but he has no clue what to look for unless he has specifics.

So I wanted to ask - what are some common forklifts, and motor ID/model numbers? I want to give him some stuff to look for but I am unsure where to start.

AFAIK - Just about anything 48V or bigger, 8"-10" DC driven.

Maybe someone who's done the swap will have more input, but basically, every forklift I've worked on has a motor that will support use in a City car at slow speeds. (UP to 35MPH)
