Actually, this is very tempting. I'm on the wrong side of the country, but my parents live a couple hours from Bellingham and have plenty of garage space. I might call up that professor on Monday and find out what he expects these things to go for and how to bid.

I'm speculating these were from Dave Cloud's program and he's gone now...

I haven't seen his name connected with the Vehicle Research Institute that built these things, but I wouldn't be surprised. Apparently the instigator was one Dr. Michael Beal, who directed the program through Viking 32. A few of the commenters at Jalopnik graduated from the program and talked about working with him.

I could very well be 100% wrong on that.

Ah, Bellingham. I was thinking Bremerton.
I'd heard about the automotive program at WWU Mechanical Engineering Department. Since I'm long past educable, I figured I could go up there and find out which bar the students and teachers with access to the wind tunnel hang out at, and hang out there.
Mainly as an excuse to road trip through the Columbia_River_Basalt_Group.

Wow, can't believe I found this post too late. Even have a brother in Washington that could have helped. Any more news or links available? Did they all sell?
