Anyone else have a maddening bulb removal procedure?

Headlight removal

I know I cn change the high and low beams without going through all of that; however the city lights; now that's another story.

Err I wanted to get the golf inspected today; I guess it will have to wait untill next week.

Dude, are you serious???

I can replace my CiViC headlight bulbs (both sides) in 2-3 minutes - no kidding!

Heh!

That would be a deal breaker for me!!!

I am serious.

I can change the low beam bulbs in about 5 minutes per side (there is a cover with 2 screws+ a dust cap to remove); this is the city (running) light located in the high beam reflector. Same procedure applies for high beam.

That's insane for a blub replacement. Even my dads 740 isn't that annoying.

On a taurus you are supposed to take the entire front bumper off to change the turn signal bulbs!!!!

Luckily, it is possible to mangle your hand past the radiator mount and twist the bulb harness out of the socket.

Do you have a Bentley manual?

I changed these exact same light (driver's side) on a friend's golf a few months ago - and was quite simple, I thought.

There's a vanity cover with a little light bulb molded into the plastic - held by two screws. Remove two screws and pull off the cover - that's how I got to the holder... Removing the battery and tray could be helpful if your hands are big or like/need a little more space....

Unless you have to remove the headlamp assembly for another reason, I didn't see any reason to go through all that o.0

Geez! I just have to reach in and twist. Done.

At least it isn't a Ford/Merc Contour/Mystique 4-cyl where you have to pull the RF wheel to change the oil filter or the similar Sebring Battery Debacle.
