Designing a tail extension for the first-gen Insight

At 2000rpm and 60mph, I figure you'll be able to fill one square inch with exhaust gas. A money no object tail extension would make use of that small amount of gas, but I'll probably ignore it for the most part.

For anyone interested, I stumbled across these same lens at Farm & Fleet.

AutoZone has the entire light assembly. These are the lights I'll be using on the Insight. Also using some smaller side-mounted running lights, and separate reflectors. Nicely sized for good visibility.

Regarding crosswind stability: Adding a lightweight boat tail should actually improve it. Because the tail moves your center of pressure rearward but barely moves your center of mass, a gust of wind that pushes your car to the right will also steer it to the left. Consider the effect of crosswinds on this modded M-B C-111 with and without the giant dorsal fin.
