Update :
I did 93 MPG coming back from south of Montreal :

I filled up recently and did 65.23 MPG. What I remember of my Averages is about 5 or 6% better that my fillup result. My 80+ MPG trips were only in the end of the tank, the first trips were in colder temps and had significantly lower MPG. The lowest trip was around 58 MPG.

I also started my Kammback Extension Mod. It is made of lexan and strenghtened by an aluminium frame. It will be hold up by coroplast support and will be attached by bungie cord on the trunk. The extension is connected with the other part of the kammback by hinges, so ye can open the kammback to have an access to the trunk.

This is the angle of the kammback from the rear :

From the side :

I also removed the Power-Steering Pump. It weighted around 10 lbs.

BIG SURPRISE THIS WEEK!

I like the design! Is it mounted with duct tape forever or are you planning on something less permanent?

I really like the hinge idea, some of us have been discussing fixing the rear portion of a sedan and I think that is the best solution by far. You wrote that it is attached to the trunk with bungee cords, but did you duct-tape the rest to the car?

That is our other obstacle: Attachment.

the first part of the kammback is only duct taped to the car and the second part is hinged to the frist part . the bungee cords are there to prevent the second part to fly off with the wind

if there was a (no duct tape) solution at low cost I would take it
