electric bike kit - hub motor

Is anyone interested in a front-wheel drive electric bike kit?

This is what got me started in electric vehicles. I haven't been using it, so I may as well sell it to fund my electric car conversion.

It is a front-wheel drive electric hub motor 26" wheel kit.

I got it from http://www.goldenmotor.com/

Did you use it much? I've thought about getting one of there motors as they have been around for many years but never got any good real life numbers on speed or range.
Also, how much are you asking for it? any plans to be at the Renewable Energy Fair in June?

I used it a fair amount. Pretty much every day that I could for a summer. After that, I got going on the motorcycle project.

Cruises at 20 MPH on electric only. The are designed for that, as some places have laws that limit electric bikes to 20 mph.

It really worked very nice. I was using 3 18amp-hour batteries and had about a 20 mile range with it. Can always get more range by pedaling more.

Doing it differently, I would have used SMALLER batteries to save weight. Otherwise a couple cordless drill batteries might work great with it too.

Right now, I am using the charger from that kit as the motorcycle's on-board charger. I will change that anyways if I go to 48 volts, otherwise the kit just won't include the little 1.5 amp charger.

I would sell for $100. I am not using it, so anything I get for it will just go to the electric car fund.

I am hoping to make it up to the last day of the MREA fair. I will be working out of town until then.

If nobody buys it local, and you are willing to ship (for a reasonable cost) I'll buy it for my dad, I know he'd like it on his cruiser.

I was just going to say that if no one took it by the time the Mid West Renewable Energy Fair rolls around, I would pick it up from you there, but I don't need it.

Hi Dremd,

I just got your private message. I was out of town a few days.

Happy to sell it to you, sounds like a great Father's Day gift.

We can work out the details by private message.
