Look what I found in the self-service junkyard

The interior is soggy, and the car is (thanks to me) fairly well picked clean, but I'll take any part requests if you have them. They're parting out the engine, too. Spark plugs and fuel rail are gone.

Maybe I should grab the tranny and rear bumper cover before this thing gets crushed.

I fit a hood, two wheel skirts, a fender, a headlamp, a HV battery assy., the bumper cover, an aero panel, a toolbox, and a trolley jack in my Insight. There was room for more.

Here's the best part: I paid $250 for all that! Check out my fine negotiation skills:

Me: How much do you want for the high voltage battery?
Guy: That thing has one? $15.
Me: You're kidding, right?
Guy: Nope.
Me: *shrug* Okay. $15.

TOUCHDOWN!!!!! with the extra points!

Good score, I love U-Pull yards when the guys at the counter don't know/care what they sell stuff for.

lol

Great work. Reminds me of when I walked off with complete forklift guts sans battery for like $40 at the local yard. I should probably buy a busted insight now and get the rest I need from you.

Grab the rear brake drums! they are aluminum with a steel lining and should fit other 4 bolt Honda rear ends, if you can get those for $15 I would take them altho I don't need to spend the money.

HAHA!

It's such a shame to see these cars being crushed. An Insight-bodied ForkenSwift would be awesome.

Congrats on the haul for sure.

Nice! I love the Buffalo yards. I got a headlight harness for my Buick at one. Guy goes, it's $20. I say, I have a ten on me. He goes, fine, ten it is. I overpaid, and fixed the broken headlight harness.

Was the yard a you-pull-it, or did you have a worker hovering over you?
