So that's what? About 120 HP w/ the turbo... unless that's not an OM617... I figure you'll get about 25-30 MPG with it, not much more, though.

Pretty cool....

But can you please stop idling your engine? I like to breath easy.

But that's double what it would normally get...

We Should get the same as in the car...if you look at the weight of the gm truck and the MB car....almost the same...MB really Heavy!

Aero, my friend. You've got double the frontal area, which is approx 4 times more aero load than the MB would have at speed, IIRC.

Without proper gearing for the SUV, you're not going to be loading the engine properly to get the best efficiency at speed.

I'm not saying that you've done something any less than amazing, but realistically, you most likely won't see the same mileage that the MB chassis realized.

Of course, if you brew your own BD for around $0.90 per gallon, you could realistically claim a dollar per mile equivalent to some 90 miles per gallon of normal petrol diesel.

seems a reasonable upgrade for the suburban, It was was rated at 13mpg combined.

The old mercedes might have had some issues, was rated maybe 22mpg?

But yah aero on the truck is awful, and it is still an automatic, so pump up the tires good, take your time, quit idling so much and I'll bet you could beat 20.
