I like it. Its not as fuel efficient, but it looks amazing IMO.

That's a serious power increase. The new car has slightly more power/weight than a Geo Metro. The original 1L car would have accelerated far, far slower than a Metro.
Of course this is just a concept car. They'll never produce it - it'd be too expensive.

Another few 'upgrades' and autoshows, and they'll water it down enough to finally sell it. As a 17mpg SUV.

V1 had quite a few exotic materials- V2 may have been developed as a more realistic potential product in terms of performance, manufacturability, and cost. Besides, if it were driven 12,000m/yr V2 would use 38 gallons more than V1- a reasonable trade-off.

I remember reading about that early one and the safety cage that was built in and how the whole thing was a pretty sweet design, but they would have had to sell it for $17,000... and really, who spends that much on a car!

rumours at frankfurt of it going into production - hence the more 'realistic' figures
