I'm in north central FL. Thanks but I did a little experiment with the regular polyester resin and as long as I wrap the styrofoam with more than one layer of masking tape it will work fine!

In the pics:
The pointy piece of foam got chewed up where only a single layer of masking tape covered it. It has stripes because where the tape overlayed, the double layer protected it!

Of the two dome shaped pieces one was covered with clear tape + masking tape= ok. The other was covered with clear tape + alu foil = ok!

Since I already covered the large fairing pieces with alu foil,I decided to put a layer of masking tape on (for a smoother surface)and start fiber glassing them as time permitted. The surface is a bit ugly but that's what bondo and paint is for
See pics.
Thanks!
Barna

Black and Green will be rebuilt over decades as parts die--until it becomes a different car. Goal is only 60-70 mpg at posted speeds. I'm not trying for highest possible mileage.

Calculators: standard deviation, Ohms Law, & drag HP losses.
