I've owned my 1987 Honda Elite 150 Scooter for 3+ years and always averaged around 70 to 75 mpg, but this year I decided to do a few things to improve my mileage.
- First thing was to change the spark plug to a NGK Iridium Plug,
- 2nd, I changed the air filter,
- 3rd thing I did was bumped the tire pressures to the max rated on the bike and added 2 psi,
- 4th thing I did was to install a bypass switch to allow the bike to be started in-the-fly, so that I did not have to press the rear brake to start the scoot
- and FINALLY, no more FOT (full open throttle) unless absolutely necessarily.
I have to say, going from 70.7 mpg to 100 mpg is pretty good if you ask me
Used 1.01 gallons for 101 miles
