Bob Gillespie, organizer of the Green Grand Prix sent along a scan of a magazine article that was just published by Victory Lane Magazine ("The Vintage & Historic Racing News Magazine ") about the event.

I love the paragraph about the EM participants:

Two of the more interesting cars were the Pontiac Firefly and Honda Civic entered by members of the Ecomodders Car Club. Every car club I've been involved with has been concerned with making the cars go faster, but these young people are passionate about improving the mileage and emissions of their cars. I didn't get to talk to them about the mechanical modifications, but visually you could see that wheel openings had been covered to help airflow, as well as part of the grill opening, while, for lack of a better word, a spoiler was attached at the back window, again for the airflow.
