That makes me ask the next question, how will you make it so that the skirt is attacheable/removeable along the curving line above the hinge? The hinge will be strong, but there needs to be a way to "seal" the rest of the skirt above the hinge. I'm asking because I'm always paranoid that the wind will get under and try to rip your wheel skirt off (I hate wasting hard work).

Like the OP mentioned, my whole concept is to make the skirt easily detacheable for when i need to rotate/replace tires. So i randomly saw these in the cabinet hardware section of home depot

Ill screw the left side in the tirewell and the right side on the wheel skirt, so it should make the top half of the wheel skirt have the ability to pop in/out. Then swing the whole assembly away, giving me access to the wheel.
As far as durability goes...only testing will tell.
