I may not be understanding it correctly, but I thought another advantage of biodiesel was no (or significantly reduced) particulate emissions (or PM), meaning no need to clear a DPF (and no soot to pump out if it were removed)... from http://www.energy.wsu.edu/ftp-ep/pub...bles/Fuels.pdf:
