Congrats on the purchase. On the rear drum brakes, you can upgrade them (get rid of them haha) with discs from Dodge Neons.
You need to get some machining done on the backing plates and adapt the brake lines (I made my own SS braided lines).

I've done this modification on my Grand Am (same brakes and wheel bearings as the J-Bodies) and I'm quite pleased with them.
