Welcome! Nice little Civic community developing on ecomodder!

As a driver of one of those DXs you mention, I can tell you I LOVE my car BUT I'd still prefer the sixth gen HX, the fifth gen VX, or the old CRX HF. If you get a DX, go for the hatch because it apparently had better FE gearing than the sedans and coupes. Avoid LX and EX. Gearing is the worst among the Civics for FE. I plan to swap my DX final drive gear at some point (with an HX or VX if possible).

Welcome!

BTW, there are some mods you can do that won't change your look at all, or make it kinda cooler. An undertray cannot be seen at street level, for example. Tire pressure changes are not visible. Injector kill switches can be hidden very well.

Looking forward to seeing what you do in future... check out "team honda" on the competition list: EcoModder Team Competition

I had never heard of it until last weekend but so far I'm digging this site. A lot of helpful info and this last fill up I did was my highest yet and I hadn't even learned some tricks from here til halfway through a tank. Hoping for 40+ !

Anyways my car is a 2007 civic Si. Only mods I have are ones I did a long time ago and probably not the best for MPG but it doesn't seem to be hurting too much:

Injen Short Ram Intake
GReddy Sport RS 60mm Exhaust system
16" OZ Superleggara rims

The rims I like they are definitely way lighter than the stock ones. As for future mods I plan to pretty much just keep it as it is, except I have ordered the Scangauge II.

Probably next spring I might look into seeing if I can find a mid 90s DX as a daily driver since it seems many are getting 50+ MPG out of those with little to no mods.

Anyways, glad I stumbled upon this website!

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.
