With only a upper grille block I am seeing typically 38 average between 70-75 mph. I make some effort to draft safely behind SUVs, medium duty trucks or semis to bring that up to 43-44 with no AC and windows closed.
And by responsible drafting I try to stay right at 3 middle white divider lines behind the truck in front of me. I would guess about a 1.2 second delay which is about 125 feet at 70 mph. Even that far back it is noticeable.
I am getting more and more inspired by the other Civics on this board. I would love to go crazy with coroplast in the coming months. Hopefully buying a house with a garage soon which will allow me to tinker more. My car is missing a lot of the plastic splash guards up front. Aerodynamically it is very dirty underneath. I agree with BrianAbington, I spend too much time in the car to slow down past where I am so I am enjoying following the progress made.
