I'm not certain of epa testing but i do know that my car is overrated compared to the Honda crz which is rated at 31/37 (lower than my Hyundai) and we all know that the crz and Hondas in general easily surpasses the epa.. something doesn't seem right..
Good news though by using dwl technique and no shoe I'm looking at a 44mpg tank so the technique is working excellent so far

ScanGauge doesn't tune the engine; won't override the car's computer.
Scangauge II will display four out of about 20 different gauge items including mpg. I use it for volts, engine coolant temp, and throttle position but there's a lot more it will show. ScanGauge e only displays two items but you have a variety to choose from.
As far as trying to reach EPA, sometimes it's a challenge (that's not news). My son's '05 Elantra doesn't achieve its EPA # either. Do shift as low as possible. It's a performance car of sorts so it wants to be zippy; do what you can to keep the rpms down. But you probably don't want to go near lugging it while breaking it in.
