I got to thinking, If I get some more material, I could make some front skirts. ~1 MPG
I also could rework the front belly pan (hangs a bit low right now). ~.5 MPG
I also could make a pan for the center section (OEM is smooth and devoid of mounting points) ~.5 MPG
side skirts? ~.5MPG
delete Power steering (its off 75% of the time now with all my P&G) ~1MPG
Those might get me 3 MPG better. does that sound about right or am i low balling it?
any thing else to mod for better MPG?
I think 100 MPG is a bit high of a goal, I have never had a trip over 79 MPG yet so I am unsure how to boost the MPG much more. 1100 miles would need ~82 MPG and I am not sure I have that much left. there is only so much I can do with a 1.8L engine that does not have lean burn
If I did add some sort of regen breaking I might get to 85 MPG as I would make my worst part of the trip into the same as the rest. it would also help the odd short trip better. not sure if the payback will ever make up the cost though. anyone have a "trial" system available for use
