I think the fuel is affected to some extent and caused the ECU to go to an economy mode. That's my theory. An engine analyser would need to be hooked up to monitor changes to ECU settings to verify if that is the case.
Other than that I am unable to give any other opinion.
SOOO assuming this did work and you think it caused the ECU to go into an eco mode, Are you saying this could not be duplicated with a car without an ECU and instead it would cause the car to run Lean or Rich?
