What's the stock timing on your VX? Does it have a knock sensor? 2-4* shouldn't hurt anything, and it will help--very modestly--to produce more low end torque, which is useful for us hypermilers since we drive in the under 2000 rpm range most of the time.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.
