Are you sure about the aero? I'm not certain about a Civic Sedan, but the Coupe has only a slightly lower roof in the back and a moderately better rear window angel than the sedan, and it's aero drag is better than the hatch. The Coupe is a 0.32 and the hatch an 0.36 because the high bluff back of the hatch is all wrong, apparently. These are sixth gen numbers, but since the fifth gen civics were not radically different in overall share from the sixth gen, I have to think the hatch is probably a higher drag car than the sedan. There was an added aero package on the VX, most notably the standard airdam or chin spoiler. And of course it had wheels that were less than half the weight of the standard steelies, reducing rotational mass by about 80lbs.
