You're probably right regarding some issues. However, people reading and posting tend to be hyper-efficient. Studies show time and again that CFL lights are bought mostly by men because they are efficient and rejected by women because they don't like the color of the light. Do women care about being efficient? Sure, but not at the expense of a whole lot of other things not related to efficiency (generalizations of course). Therefore, hyper-efficient people tend not to be females.
