I have a whole thread showing the process of guys on here helping me test and diagnose the problem: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...mbo-23129.html.

In truth, I suppose there is still a chance it could also be one or both of the front hub bearing units, even though they pass the test. But the trans definitely a problem. It has 200K miles on it, so I got my money out. I figure I'll remove it, rebuild it, experiment with swapping in my VX final drive into the DX tranny. In the mean time, the '93 CX trans will give me back my car.

I'm also curious what benefits the CX trans will give me. It is a 20% reduction in RPMs from my 6th gen DX coupe to the 5th gen CX. At freeway cruise that has to matter.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.
