garbage bag skin looks... garbage baggy

Tail update - yes, I'm still working on this!

I gave it 2 coats of oil-based paint. Then I started wrapping it in 3mil plastic on the weekend. To be honest, it looks like what it is: something wrapped in garbage bags! I had been hoping for better aesthetics, but the spray adhesive reacted with the plastic or oil paint, and it turned out wrinkly. Not sure if this plastic will shrink if heated, but I may try that.

Mostly, I've just adjusted my expectations!

I just keep reminding myself: this is a proof of concept; As much as it would be a bonus if it turned out pretty, I'm not going to spend a lot of time on finishing work.

Pics to come.

I'm going on a ~350 km trip next weekend, and this weatherproof cardboard tail will be on the car. If the weather cooperates, I'm expecting ~100 MPG (US) for the round trip, with a target cruising speed at the posted limit (80 km/h - 50 mph).
