!997 Toyota Avalon V6 w/ auto 217,000 did a fair amount of engine on in N. helped mpg, never had a problem w/ tranny
2002 Infiniti Q45 V8 w/ auto 270k miles did engine on in N a lot. Really helped mpg, never had a problem w/ tranny.
2006 Kia Sportage V6 FWD, w/ auto, do a lot of enigine on coasting in N and it helps mpg. no problem w/ tranny.
as a note: Ford Taurus does NOT lower the rpms in Neutral so that car showed no improved mpg
