Off the top of my head, I can think of a few threads in the last month or so that have gone way off the rails and degenerated into useless bickering and personal insults (not even the veiled kind!).

I can also think of a few users who are generally useless and confrontational -- who only contribute negative noise, not signal. (We also have the useful and confrontational kind... barely easier to tolerate ... you know who you are.)

That said, Tim (Daox) and I would be more than happy if regular members (non-moderators/non-admins) are willing to speak up and offer a gentle reminder that personal insults are verboten as a condition of membership here... civility is expected.

Can't speak for Tim, but I don't read every thread. And very occasionally, by the time I do get to a thread, it has already gone down the tubes.
