Best insurance is "copy & paste".

There are a couple of simple solutions, and they're in your hands:

A) When you log in, make sure you check the "REMEMBER ME" box. If you don't, you are subject to time-outs for inactivity. (Note: this may not work with some ISP's even if you check that box.)

B) Before submitting a long post: 1) CTRL-A (select all your text) 2) CTRL-C (copy your post to memory) 3) submit.

If your session has timed out, your post is still in memory and you can begin a new reply and press CTRL-V (paste from memory) into the edit form, then submit it immediately.

These keyboard commands assume you're using a PC. Apple commands are similar, but you'll have to look 'em up.
