Yep, all vehicles are compromises with the goal of targeting a particular target market at the best profit margin (or to meet a particular mandate at the lowest cost). While a good majority of the vehicle is probably best left alone, there are certainly areas which can be improved for either performance or efficiency (or occasionally both).
