Your gauge just may need to be recalibrated since the new tires are now taller.

I was going to compare my gas mileage to yours however I'm sure you are at a much higher elevation. I think the seventh gen civic was also a bit more portly from the side impact air bags and sound deadening and suspension bits. Does your car have a rear sway bar?
Well...

Cap and rotor have never been done as they do not exist on my car. Plugs were done ~20k miles ago. Air filter may be due again, but studies have proven that even severely clogged filters have little to no impact on fuel economy.

The difference in height from fully worn old tires to brand new tires accounts for only about 1.5%. I didn't feel that was enough to try to recalibrate, but the next time I'm around an odometer check point, I'll see if I can dial it in some.

Curb weight for my HX is 2434lbs vs 2370lbs for the 2000 HX. A little heavier, but not much. I've also removed some weight (power steering bits, surprisingly heavy spoiler, muffler, misc other bits) but added a sub. Probably still a net loss overall of 20-30lbs.

No rear sway bar.

I can agree with the magically quieter and ride better though. Even at 50psi they are much less harsh than the old tires and I am still surprised at how little road noise there is.
